I BELIEVE... Do you believe in God? Do you believe in Jesus Christ? Do you believe in the Holy Spirit? The answers to these questions give testimony of our faith in God the Father Almighty, in His Son Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, and in the unity of the Church. Here the believer affirms the basic doctrines of Apostolic Christianity. In an age marked by theological uncertainty and confusion, it is necessary for Christians of all churches, ancient and modern, tradi tional and contemporary, to examine afresh the belief of the apostles. In these reflections, people and events from Church History draw us to a deeper awareness of the core of Christian beliefs. "The recent growth of the young church in the majority world has been primarily through people realizing the wonderful way in which Christ meets their needs. But if these new Christians are to mature they need to know the basic truths of the Christian gospel. There is a growing recognition in the church that the Apostles' Creed is an ideal base for teaching Christians the basic truths of our faith. I therefore welcome Dr. Matthew Ebenezer's expo sition.
