Two Marthas. Two generations. Two very different worlds. One faith that reaches across the centuries.
Separated by generations and lifetimes, two young women named Martha face worlds filled with uncertainty, opposition, and choices that will test what they believe.
One Martha's story unfolds against the backdrop of the biblical world, where following Jesus can bring both extraordinary hope and tremendous cost. The other lives in a more familiar time, confronting struggles of her own as faith, family, and culture collide. Though centuries stand between them, their lives begin to reveal striking parallels: courage in the face of fear, perseverance through hardship, the influence of mothers and grandmothers, and a faith passed faithfully from one generation to the next.
Moving between past and present, The Two Marthas explores the bonds of family and the lasting power of Christian parenting while bringing readers alongside characters wrestling with hope and doubt, persecution and perseverance, loss and love.
Inspired in part by people and events found throughout the New Testament, the story imaginatively brings the biblical world to life while intertwining it with the challenges faced by another generation. Along the way, familiar figures-including Mary, Martha and Lazarus, Paul and Timothy, and Priscilla and Aquila-help illuminate a timeless truth:
Cultures change. Generations pass. But a faith faithfully lived can leave an inheritance that reaches far beyond a single lifetime.
Uplifting, thought-provoking, and at times deeply moving, The Two Marthas is a story about the faith we receive, the faith we live, and the faith we leave behind.
