The Hunchback Angel is an Advent story. It takes place in Bible times before and during the birth of Jesus. Jonathan, a twelve-year-old boy, travels with this family from Nazareth to Bethlehem in a caravan. Mary and Joseph also join the caravan. Jonathan finds it hard to cope with health issues because of his hunched back and small stature. Neighborhood boys tease him, which makes him very sad. But he discovers a way to forgive them. The reader will also learn about the bible lands through Jonathan's journey. Questions at the end of the book help the parent or teacher discuss spiritual healing with the young reader. For a child without a disability, the book opens-up discussions about how to help a child with a disability. The book can also be read to a younger child who cannot read.
