There was a time when the Church understood its mission. We were not called to sit on the shore. We were called to fish.
When Jesus declared, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men," He was not simply inviting His disciples into a relationship. He was giving them an assignment-and that calling has never changed.
In There's Nothing Like a Skilled Fisherman!, Dr. John R. Adolph calls believers back to the Great Calling of reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Drawing from childhood memories of fishing alongside his father, biblical truth, and decades of pastoral ministry, he reveals what every successful fisherman learns: the catch requires preparation, patience, persistence, and complete dependence upon God.
Designed around brief, practical daily readings, this devotional moves beyond inspiration to application. It will challenge you to exchange observation for participation, maintenance for mission, and comfort for calling.
Whether you have followed Christ for decades or are just beginning your journey, you will discover that soul-winning is not reserved for pastors, evangelists, or missionaries. Every believer has been called to cast the Gospel into a world desperately searching for hope.
The fish are still in the water.
The Master is still calling.
Are you ready to go fishing?
