Spikenard is a precious anointing oil with deep biblical significance. It is most famously used by Mary of Bethany to anoint the head and feet of Jesus just two days before His death, an act that symbolizes worship, reverence, and total abandonment to the Lord (John 12:3). This powerful gesture of devotion is a reminder of the intimate relationship we are called to have with Christ, offering our love and surrender in worship. Anointing oils have a rich history in Scripture, especially in the book of Exodus, where God commands the creation of holy anointing oils to consecrate and bless. These oils are mentioned in various passages throughout the Bible, highlighting their spiritual importance. Some of our favorite references include Exodus 30:22-31, Mark 6:13, Mark 14:3, and James 5:14-15. Our Spikenard Anointing Oil is handcrafted, blending the pure fragrance of spikenard with high-quality olive oil to create an oil that’s not only fragrant but also meaningful.
