It sounds a little crazy and perhaps it was, but we started out from Taylor's bayou with one short trip up the bayou as experience. By "we" I mean a wife, three daughters, three sons and "Cricket" our Doberman. Well, I had been driving a car and had a driver's license since I was fourteen. The boat had a steering wheel so, off we went. It is quite amazing to take a boat out in the Intercostal Waterway where all the big tow boats and barges travel and that, without any real experience navigating a boat. This was not a bass boat or a kayak. This was a fifty-one foot Ferro-Cement boat that demanded a place in the boating world, experience or not. Follow us along as we go from Texas to Haiti with many stops and adventures along the way. For more information, please contact the author, Daylon Hicks at daylonh@missionaryweb.com
