God sees all time in an eternal moment. Before time began, He saw creation's beginning, Latter Days, and the first human walk on Mars. God is never surprised. The Bible records one story under the paradigm of Creation: what God intended at the beginning. (Eden is central). Redemption: How He rescued what He intended at the beginning. (The cross is central) Restoration: How the sovereign God restored what He first intended. (The resurrection is central). The principles of Eden and the kingdom of God are one. Major principles of the gospel story are summed up in essential relationships of God, Community, Stewardship of creation, and Oneself.
There are questions of evil: Did the problems begin at a tree? Why time does not go on forever for everyone? There are questions of predestination: Did the reformers get the bases wrong? How could the cross reach through all time, to every generation, from Abraham to the Hindu lady (who never heard the name of Jesus)? How does the cross challenge our present cultures?
All our decisions are made in the context of natural time. How is Jesus the real Adam? How does the Trinitarian God make sense to a 21st century thinker? How does Holy Communion capture the entire story of creation, redemption, and restoration? This study explores the mystery of the resurrected body of Jesus. Does multi-dimensional activity play any part in the miraculous? In every aspect, body, soul, and spirit, Jesus was stone-cold dead-but then how did He rise from the dead? How did He descend to hell?
