As a representative of YAHWEH, Elisha was a prophet for his people. Though involved in the actions of foreign leaders, politicians and military, never did he neglect his God ordained responsibilities.
God called Elisha as a prophet to follow in the footsteps of his mentor Elijah. The study of his life is nothing more than remarkable. George Washington Carver, researcher, educator and great American has said, "How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and strong." This describes the life and ministry of Elisha. He was a prophet with a no-nonsense approach to circumstances in life. Always under the direction of his God, power was evident in Elisha's unwavering faith and confrontations with evil.
