This volume centers on the Biblical statement 'God is love', exploring what this means in the context of the Old and New Testaments, and in the systematic-theological discussions on the doctrine of God, ontology, and eschatology. The contributions combine Biblical and systematic perspectives on the love of God. The Biblical imagery of God's passionate love leads to fresh understandings in systematic theology, and the debate on the nature of God's love is continued by new insights. The authors have longstanding experience in Biblical and theological research as members of the research group Biblical Exegesis and Systematic Theology.
