The Volturi vampire coven, having received bad information about Bella and Edward’s daughter, Renesmee, assumes the child is a threat and sets out to kill her. Most of us have been guilty, at one time or another, of jumping to conclusions or making assumptions based on sketchy evidence. Most college teams face off against their biggest rivals, and many are playing to secure invitations to postseason bowl games. At the professional level teams are jockeying for playoff positions. This is the time of year when many of us spend our Sundays, Saturdays, and holidays watching America’s most popular sport. God instructs God’s people to make time for rest and to honor the sabbath day. But how should we do this? By watching football? By going out to eat with the family? By hitting the mall?
