As evidenced by the popularity of the movie The Social Network, the role of Facebook and Twitter in recent elections, the growth of Foursquare, and MySpace’s decision to fashion itself as a social entertainment destination, online social networking is an integral part of American culture. Our devotion to social networks has changed the way we communicate and the way we interact with one another. This new reality raises important questions about how we act and present ourselves in the Internet’s social-media environment. LinC looks at what it means to live as a genuine Christian in our online social networks. Key Scriptures: Genesis 29:16-29; Matthew 5:14-16; John 12:35-36; Romans 12:9-21. Next Sunday is the last Sunday before Thanksgiving, a holiday established for the purpose of expressing gratefulness for all the ways in which we are blessed. For Christians this means being mindful of all the gifts God has given us and being thankful for all the opportunities we have to extend God's blessings to others. Next week LinC talks about how we express gratitude and what it means to live with grateful hearts not only during the Thanksgiving season but also throughout the entire year.
