The “Occupy” protests that began in New York City have spread throughout the nation and around the world. The Occupy movement hopes to draw attention to income inequality and the role that Wall Street played in the recent global financial crisis by people speaking out for their convictions. The Muppets are back in theaters for the first time in twelve years. The Muppets, written by and starring Jason Segal, comes out November 23. A major theme in the new movie (and in all previous Muppet films) is how the characters support one another. This time around they’re getting back together after several years apart to save the old Muppet Theater. Christians can learn from the Muppets. While it’s important for the church to reach out into the world, it’s also essential that we build up one another in Christian love.
