Most every fall, as school begins, news stories surface about tension regarding prayer in schools. Recently a high school was told it could no longer have prayer before home football games. This week’s LinC reminds youth that freedom is still a fight and asks the question: “What does freedom mean to you?” Key Scriptures: Exodus 3:7-10; Galatians 4:5; 1 Corinthians 10:23-24. Recently the Ebola outbreak has dominated the news. Reactions range from, “There’s nothing to worry about” to what some people say are unnecessary quarantines. Next week your young people will have the opportunity to dig deep into God’s compassionate response to crises and suffering, while also considering what it looks like for God’s people to do the same.
