Fall is a time for festivals, and many communities have already held fall celebrations, complete with bonfires, hayrides, games, and caramel apples. In Scripture God ordains festivals and tells us to be like children; David dances for joy; and Ecclesiastes tells us to find enjoyment. While the Christian life is one of sacrifice and devotion, fun and play are also part of God's plan for us. LinC talks about how we can enjoy godly fun. Key Scriptures: Nehemiah 8:9-12; Ecclesiastes 11:8-10; Zechariah 8:1-8; Mark 10:13-16. As the title suggests, the new movie Hereafter considers what happens to people after they die. The subject of life beyond death is an important one for Christians (particularly during the week following All Saints' Day). Because of Jesus' resurrection, we know that God is greater than death and have hope that we will one day live in resurrected bodies of our own. Next week LinC talks about the "hereafter" and examines what Scripture tells us about what becomes of us after our earthly lives are over.
