In Wreck-It Ralph, the latest movie from Walt Disney Animation Studios, the title character is a videogame villain who has grown weary of being the bad guy. So he leaves his video game (through the power cord) and travels to other games, in hopes of finding ways to use his abilities for good. We all have unique gifts and talents, but discerning how God calls us to use them isn’t always easy. This week LinC talks about call and vocation. How do we know when God is calling us to do something? And how do we determine how to make faithful use of the abilities, opportunities, and passions that are God’s blessings to us? Key Scriptures: Jeremiah 1:1-10; Luke 5:1-11; 1 Corinthians 12:1-27. Now that most states offer early voting, many voters prefer going to the polls now instead of braving long lines on Election Day. But plenty of people who have ample opportunities to mark their ballots before November 6 will wait until the last minute, trying to squeeze in a trip to the polls along with their usual Tuesday work, school, and family obligations. Procrastination is a common ailment in our culture. We put off school papers and projects, household chores, and even trips to the doctor. Next week we’ll talk about procrastination and how we can make faithful use of God’s gift of time and take advantage of the opportunities that God provides.
