In the October 16 issue, LinC reminds us that according to the stories of Jesus and his earliest followers, healing is one of the church’s most important ministries. And Christian healing isn’t limited to inexplicable cures to physical ailments performed by a few “men of God.” Rather, all Christians are called to heal one another in many different ways. In the October 23 issue, LinC looks at how damaged oil refineries in Texas and Louisiana, along with other factors, are causing Americans to pay more than ever for gas. Many people have found ways to conserve fuel so that they can save money as well as help the country avoid a shortage. Conserving God-given resources, such as gasoline, is a form of stewardship—a concept that is familiar in churches that are currently asking members to pledge time, talent, and money for the coming year.
