Reality show Kid Nation is one of this fall's most talked about new programs. It features children and youth ages 8 to 15 trying to create a functioning society in a New Mexico ghost town. The 40 kids in Bonanza City must learn to cooperate for the good of every community member. As Christians, we also must work together and live in community with one another; and we must do so in a world whose priorities and expectations sometimes conflict with God's will for us. Key Scriptures: Leviticus 19:9-18; Luke 10:30-37; 1 Corinthians 11:17-22; 12:12—13:13. Ana's Story: A Journey of Hope, the first book by the President's daughter Jenna Bush, tells of Jenna's experience as a UNICEF volunteer. During her travels, Bush learned important lessons about compassion that she seeks to pass on to other young people. As Christians, we are called to be compassionate, to be Christ's hands and feet on earth, and to show our love for Jesus by reaching out to others.
