The 2011 college football season is underway, and for fans, it’s a welcome break from the ongoing coverage of recruiting scandals and rules violations involving some of the nation’s most successful programs. Several high-profile college football teams are under investigation or on probation for cheating of some sort. Of course, cheating is hardly limited to college sports. People in all walks of life cheat to gain an advantage. LinC talks about cheating and looks at ways that we can replace a win-at-all-costs attitude with an attitude of Christian cooperation. With school, studying and doing homework, sports practices, band practices, choir practices, play rehearsals, scouting meetings, and probably a couple dozen other things, it’s easy for a twenty-first-century teenager to become overwhelmed. It’s also easy for church involvement and spiritual practices such as prayer and reading Scripture to get lost in the busyness. Next week we’ll talk about how we can keep God at the center of our lives, even when our schedules are full.
