It takes a community of faith—including older adults—to make disciples of young people. Many teens and older adults alike have a misconception that older adults can’t “relate” to teens. On the contrary, these seasoned citizens have much to offer, especially their wisdom. In honor of National Grandparents Day, LinC will help your youth recognize the blessings and wisdom older adults can bring to their lives. Key Scriptures: Psalm 92; Luke 2:21-40; 2 Timothy 1:3-12. It’s no secret that teenagers experience huge amounts of stress. Much of that stress comes from fear of failure to meet the layers of expectations placed on them by parents, coaches, teachers and, yes, youth leaders. Next week’s LinC will talk about the timely topic of performance anxiety and help youth begin to experience God’s peace as they tackle and respond to these and other fears.
