In the July 23 issue, LinC explores this summer's biggest animated movie, Cars, the story of a hotshot racecar that gets lost and must rely on help from jalopies and other undesirable vehicles. The film raises questions about our cultural notions of status and self-worth. As the body of Christ, we must eliminate any pecking order based on income, appearance, and accomplishments. Key Scriptures: John 1:43-51; 1 Corinthians 11:17-22, 33-34; 12:1-26; Philemon 8-22. In the July 30 issue, LinC looks at multibillionaire Warren Buffet, who recently made headlines when he donated $37 billion to various philanthropic causes, mostly through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. While few of us will ever have billions of dollars to give away, Buffet's large donation gives us occasion to discuss generosity and how to make use of the resources God has given us.
