Toy Story 3 is on its way to being 2010’s biggest blockbuster—quite a feat for a G-rated, animated feature. The film resonates with moviegoers and critics because it takes an honest look at the complexities of growing up. For many of us, growing up involves fear and anxiety. But God has good news for those who are making the transition from adolescence to young adulthood. Though we inevitably grow older, we never outgrow God’s love and grace. And, though we must “put away childish things” (1 Corinthians 13:11), we should never put away our childlike faith and sense of wonder. Key Scriptures: Psalm 100; Isaiah 46:1-4; Matthew 18:1-5; Luke 2:40-52; 1 Corinthians 13:11. ABC's PrimeTime is doing a special series called Mind Games, which looks at how the human mind works and how it can be manipulated. The series raises questions about the people and messages that influence the ways we think and act. Next week, we'll look at the positive and negative influences in our lives and discuss what having a Christ-influenced mind means. From there we'll look at how those who draw inspiration and direction from Christ can influence and have an impact on their world.
