Many European nations are struggling with a severe debt crisis. And since we have close economic relationships with many countries in Europe, the debt crisis there has an impact on the economy in the U.S. No one in our world is completely independent. We all rely on other people, and we all have other people who rely on us. For this reason we must hold one another accountable. LinC talks about Christian accountability and our responsibilities toward our brothers and sisters in Christ and toward all of the people God has created. Key Scriptures: 2 Chronicles 15:1–16:9; Ezekiel 33:1-9; Acts 5:1-11. Summer is an in-between time for youth. Is a teen who just completed eighth grade a high schooler, or is she still an eighth-grader? What about the 18-year-old who has graduated from high school but hasn’t yet joined the work force or gone off to college? Is he an adult, or still a kid? The Bible is full of stories about and instructions for in-between times. As Christians we are the ultimate in-betweeners. We have been reborn in Christ, yet we still struggle with sin; we are part of God’s kingdom, but we still live in a broken world. Next week we’ll talk about these in-betweens and how to be God’s people where we are while looking forward to what God has in store for us.
