Sorting through the “why’s” and emotions resulting from the plague of random, senseless mass killings that have occurred in the past few years is no easy task. The recent shooting at the Jewish Community Center in Kansas points to some of the key issues humanity has confronted throughout the ages: hate, fear, and lack of respect for those different from us. LinC tackles this important issue and explores solutions your students can implement now. Key Scriptures: Judges 13:15-25; Luke 10:25-42; Romans 12:9-17. God is so many things and described in so many ways in the Bible—Judge, Provider, Savior, Love, Father and yes, like a mother—it can be confusing. To help youth gain some clarity, next week LinC examines the parental (father and mother) characteristics of God and will help students relate more intimately with God’s parental love.
