If your parents are embarrassed by what they’re wearing in their yearbook picture, you can offer them this bit of good news: 1980’s fashion is making a big comeback. Miniskirts with thick belts, leotards, tapered jeans, and low-cut stiletto boots are just as fashionable now as they were in the decade of Rubik’s Cubes and jelly shoes. Speaking of comebacks, this week is Easter—the celebration of the greatest comeback in history. But unlike fashion comebacks, Jesus’ return was permanent. Whenever a new administration takes office one of the first orders of business is developing relationships with leaders of other nations. In recent weeks President Obama and his team have been getting to know their peers in other countries while dealing with difficult global issues such as the economy and nuclear proliferation. When our elected leaders go out into the world to forge new relationships, they represent our country. When we, as Christians, go out into the world and make new relationships, we represent Christ.
