On March 25th, LinC takes a look at YouTube™, one of the web’s most popular sites. The site challenges users with the slogan, “Broadcast yourself.”™ Millions of people have responded, populating the site with home movies, music videos, commercials, comedy skits, and anything else that will play on a three-inch videoviewer. Imagine that Jesus opened a YouTube™ account and decided to “broadcast himself.” What do you think you would see on the Savior’s YouTube™ playlist? Key Scriptures: Isaiah 53:1-9; Matthew 16:13-19; Hebrews 13:6-8. On April 1, LinC explores a recent Discovery Channel special, The Lost Tomb of Jesus. The show claims to have looked inside a tomb occupied by the remains of Jesus and his family. Although most scholars aren’t convinced that the tomb belongs to Jesus, the documentary has nonetheless fueled speculation that, when our Messiah died, he stayed dead. Of course, the Gospels and the witness of generations of Christians tell us that this is not the case. This Passion Sunday, we affirm that Christ's story didn’t end in a tomb.
