The presidential candidacy of Mitt Romney and the success of The Book of Mormon on Broadway have drawn attention to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, better known as Mormonism. While the LDS Church has been around since the middle of the nineteenth century and there are more than six million Mormons in the United States today, questions and misconceptions about this growing religion persist. LinC tackles some of these questions and misunderstandings, looks at ways that we can work alongside Mormons, and helps reaffirm the Christian faith that we profess. In the new movie, The Vow, a married woman wakes up in a hospital following a car accident with no memory of her husband or marriage. The situation puts the couple’s wedding vows to the test. How can a couple honor their lifetime covenant when one person doesn’t even recognize the other? The Vow raises all sorts of questions about promises and commitment.
