During March people around the country will observe Women’s History Month. It wasn’t long ago that women as a group weren’t considered part of the “in- crowd.” If you’re not in, then it feels like you’re out—outcast and unnoticed. For this to change, it took people who cared to notice, reach out, and make a difference. LinC helps teens consider what it means for them to live obediently, following Jesus’ example and teachings by reaching out to the unnoticed. Key Scriptures: Matthew 15:21-28; John 4:1-26; Luke 13:10-17. We all read them, and we all use them to describe ourselves and others. They’re labels. The new movie The Duff raises awareness of the damage labeling can have on our sense of self-worth. Next week your teenagers will have the opportunity to examine the labels they and their friends wear, how they feel about those labels, and what they can do to resist accepting and assigning labels that diminish one another’s value as God’s children.
