The Disney Channel’s popular animated series Phineas and Ferb is about two stepbrothers, the incredible and elaborate adventures they create in their backyard, and their neurotic teenage sister who tries in vain to hold the boys accountable for their incredible schemes by getting them busted. Accountability is important among siblings and especially among brothers and sisters in Christ. This week LinC looks at how Christians can hold one another accountable in a spirit of trust, humility, and love. Key Scriptures: 2 Samuel 12:1-14; Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, 12; Mark 3:31-35; Luke 15:11-32; 1 Peter 3:8-17. February was a rough month for sports fans. A British tabloid published a photo of fourteen-time, Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps smoking marijuana at a college party. Meanwhile Sports Illustrated revealed that baseball star Alex Rodriguez tested positive for steroids in 2003. These revelations were particularly upsetting because Phelps and Rodriguez are role models to so many people. Next week we'll look at role models. We'll talk about how "no one is good but God alone" (Luke 18:19); how God works through flawed people; and how we, as Christians, should strive to set an example for others.
