The LEGO Movie is the story of a nobody who saves everybody. Emmit, an ordinary LEGO® minifigure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary Master Builder, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil LEGO tyrant from gluing the universe together. Though he feels hopelessly unprepared, Emmit continues on the journey with a fellowship of others committed to the task. Next week LinC helps youth to appreciate what makes them special as individuals and explores ways that the church, a empowered community of special people, can do amazing things for God. Key Scriptures: 1 Samuel 16:1-13; Matthew 5:1-20; Romans 12. Reduced to simply giving up something we enjoy, the season of Lent seems to have lost its original intent: to set aside time to reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice by removing any and all distractions. In the next issue of LinC, youth will have the opportunity to learn what Lent is all about and gain a fresh perspective on participating today in this ancient but meaningful practice.
