A twenty-two-year-old woman has decided to auction her virginity on the Internet to pay for graduate school. The highest bids exceed $3 million. That’s a lot of money, but our bodies—which were specially created in God’s image—are worth much more. Though we live in an “everything is for sale” culture, we cannot and should not put a price tag on our bodies. This week we’ll look at how we can live our lives as God’s priceless creations. Key Scriptures: Esther 1; Psalm 139:1-18; Matthew 6:25-34. As Valentine’s Day approaches, we’ll look at the story of the actual saint (or saints) for whom the day is named. Then, in the spirit of the holiday, we’ll talk about love—not gushy, flowers-and-candy-hearts love—but real, sacrificial Christian love. Next week LinC explores how we can show our love to God, to our neighbors, and to those who are difficult to love.
