Later this month the United States will inaugurate its next president, Barack Obama. Obama, perhaps more than most presidents, has quite a following, and Washington D.C. is scrambling to accommodate the millions of people who are going to great lengths to participate in his historic inauguration. As followers of Jesus, we should go to far greater lengths to get closer to Christ, knowing that he will have no problem accommodating us. Super Bowl commercials have become as big of an event as the game itself. To build buzz around its spot during this year’s game, Doritos has allowed the public to create and choose its Super Bowl ad by submitting and voting on possible commercials on the Internet. The objective when making a commercial is to communicate one’s message in a meaningful way in only thirty seconds. Next week we’ll look at how we can communicate our message—the message of good news in Christ—clearly and effectively so that others’ lives will be changed.
