The movie The Blind Side (based on a book by the same name) tells the true story of football player Michael Oher and the Tuohys, the adoptive family who helped lift Oher out of poverty and provided him a first-rate education. The Tuohys were moved with compassion when they became aware of Oher's poor living conditions; they acted on this compassion by making Oher part of their family. Next week LinC looks at Christian compassion and how we can turn compassion into action. Key Scriptures: Exodus 2:5-10; Matthew 21:28-32; Luke 10:25-37; John 9:1-17. Did you make any New Year's resolutions? How well have you kept them? Many people already have neglected (or forgotten) the promises they made to themselves at the beginning of the year. Maybe they lose interest; maybe they lack discipline. Either way, they burn out. Next week we'll look at burnout and the challenge of remaining faithful to the commitments we make to God.
