Are you familiar with upcycling? It’s a bit like recycling, but instead of tossing stuff in a bin so that some company can process it and reuse it, you reuse your old things by turning them into something new. Upcycling is one way that we can be faithful stewards and get the most out of the gifts and resources God provides for us. LinC explores upcycling and how we can find creative ways to use all that God has given us for the good of God’s kingdom. Key Scriptures: Matthew 6:24; Luke 8:4-15; 12:22-31; Acts 2:43-47. Got grit? True Grit, a remake of the classic 1969 John Wayne film based on a novel of the same name, has been a hit at the box office and with critics. Jeff Bridges, who stars as U.S. Marshall Reuben, or “Rooster” Cogburn, is known as “a man with true grit” and is hired to hunt down a killer on the run. Grit, meaning single-minded, stubborn determination, can be good or bad, depending on how we use it. Next week we’ll look at biblical examples of grit and dicuss how we can be gritty in our devotion to God.
