Are you feeling sleepy? sluggish? all worn out? What if the answers to all your energy problems came in a tall, shiny aluminum can? Dozens of energy drinks—beverages with edgy names that are high in caffeine and sugar—claim to be able to give you the boost that you’re looking for. But these drinks are known to have an adverse effect on one’s health, causing anxiety, tremors, and other problems. This week LinC looks at a healthier way to get a boost in (physical and spiritual) energy: the Holy Spirit. Key Scriptures: Zechariah 4:1-9; Mark 1:9-15; Luke 1:5-20; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13. Later this month the United States will inaugurate its next president, Barack Obama. Obama, perhaps more than most presidents, has quite a following, and Washington D.C. is scrambling to accommodate the millions of people who are going to great lengths to participate in his historic inauguration. As followers of Jesus, we should go to far greater lengths to get closer to Christ, knowing that he will have no problem accommodating us.
