In the January 7 issue of LinC, we observe Epiphany Sunday, a time when many churches will commemorate the visit of the wise men, who offered gifts to the Christ Child. These travelers gave Jesus the best of what they had. How can we follow their example? What gifts has the Holy Spirit bestowed upon us, and how can we practice spiritual re-gifting by offering those gifts back to Christ? Key Scriptures: Exodus 4:1-17; Matthew 2:1-12; Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11.
In the January 14 issue, LinC looks at the 2006 celebrity trend of adopting babies from developing nations. Regardless of our opinions about some celebrities, becoming a parent to an orphaned child is an extraordinary act of love. As Christians, we all have been adopted by a loving parent: God. Next week we’ll look at how to claim our identities as God’s beloved children.
