The early chapters of Isaiah (See also the Geared for Growth study on Isaiah chapters 1 to 39) deal with the punishment due to God's people in rebellion, the later chapters stress the Lord's provision, comfort and deliverance in the coming salvation through the Messiah. It could almost be put alongside the 27 books of the New Testament and is one of the reasons why Isaiah has been called 'The Fifth Gospel' - though written 800 years before the Incarnation.
