  • By John Van Voorhis, Jaffet J. Perez
$17.99
Product Description
Burton W. Barber was a master at any project he tackled, whether it was memorizing scripture, teaching, preaching, debating, construction . . . you name it . . . he would tackle it and perfect it One of his best was designing, printing and publishing. The chart on the cover was one of the two most attractive and was used when he presented the History of the Church, using the book of Revelation. In the pages of this book, we have tried to portray his life as it was. Many that he taught or influenced have made a contribution to this biography. John Van Voorhis has known Burton W. Barber since 1955, when he attended Midwestern School of Evangelism. John developed a friendship with Burton that lasted the rest of Burton's life. John became one of the best promoters of Barber's classes and works. Jaffet J. Perez began to work closely with Burton W. Barber upon his visit to Puerto Rico (Jaffet's birth place) in 1967. Later on, after Burton returned to the States, to Minnesota, and then to Florida, Jaffet invited him back to Puerto Rico to continue the publishing work from there. Jaffet and Burton were producing printed material in both the Spanish and English languages. Burton returned to Puerto Rico and worked in Vega Baja for six and a half years. In 1986 Burton returned to Northborough, MA, to work with John Van Voorhis in a leadership training program. The publishing of materials in both languages continued there and later on in Galax, VA, where Burton spent his last years. John and Jaffet have worked together in various projects relating to the churches of Christ since 1960, Jaffet from New York and John from Massachusetts. Finally, in Burton's later years the three spent much time publishing, and training leaders, from wherever they were residing: Puerto Rico, Minnesota, Florida, Massachusetts and Galax, Virginia, from where Burton went to be with the Lord in 1996.
