Attending church several years ago, Penny Murphy received a simple key chain in connection to a study series her church was taking part in called, "Project Matthew." The key chain simply read, "When Matthew found Christ, he found a way to share Christ," with Luke 5:27-32 written below. Since that study Penny has struggled to find a way to share the Lord she knows with others. There is so much rich scripture in the bible that leads many to Christ but how could Penny share the excitement of God's bounty with others, when she was so poor with words herself? For a women lacking in the way of words, Penny Murphy found her voice with brush and easel. Let us Fix Our Eyes on Jesus... is her gift to Christians and seekers alike. This subtle and fresh collection is a simple way to share scripture. At first glance the artwork appears to be generic paintings. But, as the viewer begins to explore they realize how much more there is. They discover the heart behind each piece was guided by God. When God's word is added to the paintings, they become alive. The two together, scripture and paint, work in harmony to bring a deeper meaning to the viewer. Now, add the hidden Christ in each piece and they become dimensional, just like the scriptures themselves. Matthew found a way to share Christ with others and by God's grace, now an artist with few words can too.
