The traditional picture of a leader looks a lot like the crusty bosses from the endless sitcoms people have grown up watching on TV; stodgy old men passing down judgment from on high about how their employees were to look, behave, and perform. And for many years, this stereotype has rung true. These judgmental leaders practice an autocratic style of leadership and are dictators instead of leaders that develop others. This book introduces a new leadership paradigm that is dynamic and will have a positive impact on both leaders and their organizations. This paradigm is called "Merciful Leadership." While reading this book, leaders will be challenged to evaluate their own leadership approaches and determine the impact on their followers and employees. As leaders begin to implement this new paradigm, they will experience positive changes within their organizations and find a renewal in their own purposes. Dr. Jeff Radford has a passion to share and exemplify his leadership paradigm known as "Merciful Leadership." Being reared in a Christian home with his brothers David and Chris, Jeff always seemed to show an interest in helping others. His father once stated that he had a "pastor's heart." Jeff uses his career and education to help other people, and he is now introducing a leadership paradigm that is centered on mercy. He is a published author, teacher, leader, and speaker, but most important, he is a Christ follower and ordained minister. Dr. Radford has completed an associate of applied science (AAS), with a major in nursing from Mountain Empire University; a bachelor of science (BS), with a major in nursing from Old Dominion University; a master of business administration (MBA), with a concentration in healthcare management from Baker College; and a doctorate of strategic leadership (DSL) from Regent University. He has two step-children, Jennifer and Richard, and currently resides in Abingdon, Virginia, with his wife, Debbie, and their two children, Kaitlyn and Blake.
