Jan and CajunRev. Jan Shearouse Alexuk is a graduate of University of South Florida, Mass Communications-Newspaper Reporting and Public Relations, Columbia College, Psychology, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Master's Degree, Religious Education-Counseling and Youth Work. She has written for several newspapers as well as volunteer publications. She was ordained in 2005 as an inter-denominational minister and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Religion for Central Texas College at their Fort Stewart, Georgia site.Rev. Alexuk is a native of Orlando, Florida and has lived in Hinesville, Georgia for twenty three years with her husband Nicholas and dog Cajun. Cajun was adopted from a local animal shelter shortly after she began writing Andie Beth Steps. He had been picked up as a stray while wandering a county road. She met her husband while they were both on active duty in the Army at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1976.She is active in the community teaching a senior adult Sunday school class In Richmond Hill, Georgia as well as volunteering with the American Cancer Society.Rev. Alexuk conceived the idea for Andie Beth Steps as a fourteen year old when Luci Baines Johnson moved into the White House following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. She began following and researching the lives of Presidential children. This is her first novel in a trilogy of Andie Beth books. Although this book is fiction, it can also be adapted to study groups or parent teen workshops, conferences or Vacation Bible School.
