She graduated from Monmouth College, {now Monmouth University}, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She continued her education degree to also include Specific Learning Disabilities with a concentration in Special Education and Art.In 1985 she married and moved to the west coast of Florida where she and her husband resided for 21 years. The Lord then moved them, and their seven children to the mountains of North Georgia and then into North Carolina for a season. It was supposed to be their "mountain-top experience," but ended up being their "wilderness journey," which led to the writing of this book about trials.She desires to continue writing books which encourage believers to stay intimately connected to Jesus Christ, and urge others, who don't yet know Jesus, to come to this knowledge and enjoy the "best thing that ever happened to them."
