This book is primarily for law-abiding citizens trying to raise their children and support their families. I hope it acts as a life raft in a sea of confusion. After completing a distinguished 22-year career in the NYPD, Captain Eric Adams retired and was elected to the New York State Senate by the residents of the 20th Senatorial District in Brooklyn, NY. As a Captain in the NYPD, Eric Adams became well-known to New Yorkers as a thoughtful and tireless advocate. Currently, Senator Eric Adams serves as Chairman of the Veterans, Homeland Security, and Military Affairs Committee and Chairman of the Racing, Gaming, and Wagering Committee. He is a member of the Finance, Judiciary, Banks, Consumer Protection, and Energy and Telecommunications Committees. Eric Adams is also a co founder of 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care. A civil rights organization made up of law enforcement officials who dedicated their own time and resources to address issues such as: child abuse, gang awareness, police misconduct, racial profiling, youth violence and domestic violence. He received his Masters Degree in Public Administration from Marist College, and is a graduate of New York City Technical College and John Jay College of Criminal Justice
