Picking Up the Pieces is a sequel to Charlie's Last Wish. It is an inspiring story of a family's loss and their ability to overcome it through love and faith. Charlie finds it hard to accept his mother's death and struggles to find meaning to his life until his mother leaves him messages in his Bible. Charleen finds solace in her mother's journals and writing in her own. Cathleen comes to Aiden and Charlie in dreams that enable them to pick up the pieces of their lives and believe that love can truly live on. She lives on not only through their children but also the horse ranch she started that continues to bring joy to the disabled and able alike. Doctor O'Leary and his children discover in their own way that love is still very much alive.
