The Pilgrim Holiness Church was born in revival. Martin Wells Knapp, the diminutive "spiritual Napoleon," and Seth C. Rees, called the "Earth-Quaker" for his powerful preaching and Quaker roots, rose from the decay of the Industrial Revolution to lead a great spiritual movement. One a publisher, the other a preacher, they formed a union that founded colleges, established publishing houses, and sent missionaries across the globe.
