The story of Christ's death and resurrection is told in rhyming verse by the sparrow who witnessed the events.
As Sparrow tells his friends about the morning Christ emerged from the tomb, all of the animals are amazed, yet believe. And at the conclusion of Sparrow's story, the animals decide they, too, must spread the word of Christ's resurrection.
Throughout, the author has the animals speak with the reverence that the story deserves, yet with a hint of the lightheartedness of the joyousness of the season.
