Scripture dictates that we are to confess our sins to one another and forgive one another as well. But, as Catholics, we are often called upon to explain to our non-Catholic family, friends, and co-workers why we confess our sins to a priest. Fr. John Dowling has outlined and clarified the reasons we recognize the sacrament of reconciliation so that we may better answer these questions when they arise.
