Celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with this bulletin featuring a portrait and the following text: The Lord said... Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.Exodus 3:7, 10. On April 3, 1963, King began his campaign to desegregate the deep-south city of Birmingham, Alabama. Intense white opposition in marches and demonstrations caught the attention of the nation and the world and landed King in jail. Like a modern day Paul, King wrote to the white clergy of Birmingham - and to the churches of today: "If today's church does not recapture the sacrificial spirit of the early church it will lose its authenticity, forfeit the loyalty of millions, and be dismissed as an irrelevant social club with no meaning."
