But Jackie Robinson was concerned about greater issues, such as the struggle for civil rights, and he worked tirelessly with church groups and community organizations after his retirement from baseball. "Baseball was just a part of my life," Jackie said. "Thank God that I didn't allow a sport or a business…to dominate me completely."
