Listen...to the words of the Scripture, and in them discover God's message for you today.
Look...at a brief verbal snapshot from the scrapbook of contemporary life and discover its connection both to you and to the Scripture passage.
Live...inside the Scripture to discover its context and message; then allow the Scripture to come alive in you and cause you to live out your faith in new and more-effective ways.

I like steak. I like almost any kind of steak, prepared almost any way possible. When I was little, for my birthday meal I always asked to have “cooked meat”—not hamburger or chicken (though they are fine, too), but a nice, big, juicy piece of steak. To see it on my plate... my, what a wondrous and lovely experience! Ask my wife, Cheri, “What’s Randy’s favorite food?” and she will just roll her eyes. In fact, ask anybody who knows me, and they will roll their eyes.
The fact that I love steak is one easy thing to know about me. However, few people know my quiet fears, my deep longings, my silent disappointments, or my simple dreams. Even fewer know my private sins or my secret acts of goodness. The same, of course, is true of you. It is a sad commentary on our times that even in church it has become rare for people to “know” much more than each other’s name or address or occupation. That knowledge is important, but it takes us only so far. In short order, it comes to an end; and we are left alone, unknown.
We are alone, that is, except for God.
Today we will take time to marvel at God’s wonderful knowledge of us and consider what that means for faithful living.
