In the November 7 issue, LinC takes a look at how movie-goers have mourned the loss of Christopher Reeve—Hollywood’s Superman. On November 11, Americans will recognize Veterans Day—a holiday that takes on special significance during a time of war. Thinking of Christopher Reeve and veterans brings one word to mind: courage. As Christians, we must have courage in order to live out our faith. Key Scriptures are: Joshua 1:5-9; 1 Chronicles 28:20; John 16:25-33; and Acts 28:15. In the November 14 issue, LinC takes a look at the nearly miraculous comeback of the Boston Red Sox against the New York Yankees to then make a sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals. Finally overcoming the “Curse of the Bambino,” the Boston Red Sox won their first World Series since 1918. The Sox’s victory reinforces an important lesson for Christians: Though we sometimes feel “cursed,” with God we always have hope.
